Pleated Card Tutorial

1. Cut the length of an A4 piece of card to 28cms.
2. Put a crease at each end of the length of card, at both 4.5cms and 9cms.
3. Fold the left crease which is at 9cms, toward the centre and fold back the crease which is at 4.5cms.
4. Do the same on the right side. Open out flat.
5. Fold the left crease back again at the 9cms mark and bring the left bottom corner up to the the 4.5cm           crease, using a creaser to get a sharp edge, then fold back the opposite way to make it more flexible.
6. Repeat for all 4 corners.
7. Open out and on wrong side push in each of the corner folds so the card concertinas.
8. Using a pretty paper, cut 2 strips 4cms x 20.5cms.
9. Adhere to the 2 front panels leaving the same border all the way round. Cut a contrast paper to 9.5cms x 20.5cms and adhere to the centre of the card again leaving the same border all the way around.
10. I used the forever Friends Decoupage kit ‘pink parfait to layer the bear with flowers as instructed and using double sided foam adhere to the centre of the card.

Journalling Galore

This week I am exploring the techniques of journalling and doodling. The intricate detail involved usually discourages me from attempting this technique but when you start to give it a try you realise that the messier and haphazard the project; the better the result! So don't be consumed with matching papers, colours and embelishments... let your imagination run free.

I discovered this great blog today which gives you a few starter tips and cheats for making your very own journal. Amy Powers Inspire Co is a great fountain for tips and ideas on all things crafty so dive in and explore all she has to offer.

Coming up... downloadable Journal Pages by Grace Is Overrated!

Card Classes at Et Voila have arrived!

Back by popular demand! Thank you all for being so patient during the re-location of Et Voila. Now that the glitter has settled and the embellishments have been made, I can re-commence my tutorial classes once more.

I am going to begin with a beginners card making class on Thursday 8th September from 10.30 - 12pm. The cost is 10 € per person which includes a delicious cup of Lavazza coffee or one of the delicious tea's supplied by Giac's Bar. The classes will be held weekly at the same time and each lesson we will make a card using a different technique. It is up to you how many classes you want to attend, whether it's just one or two or until you progress onto the Intermediate level (my last group of budding crafters attended classes for two years!)

You will learn an exciting new technique or idea each week, and you will be amazed with how far you can take this hobby if you really want to. Whether it's just as a hobby, to make cards for your loved ones or whether you are looking into selling your creations to the public.

There is capacity for 5 people in every class so please do let me know as soon as possible if you would like to attend. I have already secured a few seats at the craft table, so be sure to get in quick! For more details or to book a class please email me at etvoila_creatifs@yahoo.fr

I will also be starting a scrapbooking class in the very near future so please do keep checking the blog for updates on this or feel free to email me for further details. I would love to hear from you and will try to accomodate any particular areas of interest that you may have.

I hope to see you all very soon,
